Angel quest, insights
Book #3

Now
Published!

Lily Carpenter is living a shallow life, filled with kids and an abusive husband. One single event, a car accident, has changed Lily's life forever. That event has now escalated into a series of events that have given Lily a choice.

Is there a supernatural world surrounding her everyday?  Does God work through people and events to touch our lives? Granny Rose is a spiritual Christian woman that helps Lily realize that the normal life we lead is far from the reality of the universe.

Supernatural events surround Lily and she has to decide about the reality of her life versus the life God wants her to have. Lily continues her adventure toward her destiny as her contemporary drama unfolds through dreams, visions and the word of God. Normal life seems to contradict her new found reality and revelation.

New Title!  New Covers!

Please be patient with us as we make these changes.  The story is still the same with 4.6 stars!  It was formerly titled Axis Quest, The Beginning.  We were getting reader comments about some confusion with the original title sounding like science fiction or something about World War II.  For this reason, we decided to make the title change.  The content is still the same, just a new title and cover.  We have really good reviews and hope to continue to inspire readers everywhere.  Thanks so much for all your support.

ICFS Blogspot Home Page

Welcome
ICFS
Indie Christian Fiction Search
So, you’re a voracious reader whose tablet is begging to be fed. Because you read a lot, you want a greater breadth of material, rather than the same-ole-same-ole, at reasonable ebook prices.

Boy, do I have the website for you!

Indie Christian Fiction Search —“Ickfuss (ICFS) to its friends—is THE site to find affordable Christian fiction by independent authors.

Why was this site created? For a number of reasons …

Independent fiction is growing rapidly as a viable choice for readers. Many authors whose stories have been spurned by traditional publishing houses solely on the basis of marketability of topic, have chosen this route of publication in order to fulfill the call God has placed on their hearts. This is great news to the avid Christian reader. It means a greater breadth of story, from a biblical point of view, that is also affordable. You can read lots of it without breaking the bank.
Picture

Each book has it's own page with description
ICFS was also created because as independent fiction grows, the need for REAL gatekeepers becomes increasingly important. Not just to ensure quality of product, but for the Christian reader, to set a standard of biblical content as well (see the ICFS Statement of Faith and Content Warnings). But now, it must be the READER who will lead the way, not the executive or the marketing team who makes decisions about the life or death of a story based on numbers that do not touch the hearts and minds of what each reader really wants. YOU can tell us what YOU think about a story and whether it relates to your world, be it small town, big city, Midwest or historical—not what the fad of the day dictates. YOU have the power. You just need a place to exercise it with others who share your faith and your passion for a great book.
Picture
Why do this on Indie Christian Fiction Search (ICFS)? Because it is the one site with the greatest ability to sift through large numbers of books at break-neck speed. And as it grows, with more books added, you will need that function more than ever! With ICFS, you can sort by genre, watching the little covers float across the page, or plug in search criteria, including author name, character professions, time-periods, story themes, etc. to find something that suits you to a tee. Plus, if you check out all its views and play with all of its functions (listed on the “How to Use This Site” page), it’s just plain fun—kinda like when automatic car-window openers were invented (I know, I’m dating myself :o)). Check it out. Read the “How to” page. Play with the views and try some search criteria. Watch what happens. Hee hee!

Indie Christian Fiction Search is a growing site. Make sure you come back again to see what happens after a few months! And don’t forget to sign up for the newsletter. I promise it will not load down your email inbox unnecessarily. It will be sent no more than quarterly. Plus, if you sign up by October 31, 2014, you will be entered to win a $20 Amazon gift card.

Stop by IndieChristianFictionSearch.Blogspot.com and have some fun. You won’t be sorry!

WELCOME
KD HARP
author of:
WHITE LIES

I see your newest book, White Lies, addresses violence against women.
Keep in mind WHITE LIES is a romantic suspense and not women’s lit, so the focus must be entertainment and adventure, not statistics and coping strategies for real-life victims. The protagonist Alexandra makes lemonade of lemons whenever she can, so it’s a natural for her to exploit the media hoopla over her trial prosecuting her assailant from BLACKMAIL (the first book in the series) to promote awareness of domestic violence.  The decision to take the reader into Wallace’s boudoir and attempt to let them feel some of Alexandra’s terror was difficult. It’s not for the faint of heart. I still get uncomfortable reading this passage, even though I know Alexandra’s a sharp cookie who fends for
herself, and Adam and Brett are moving heaven and earth to come to her aid.

Alexandra’s fear is pure fiction. If reading it makes us uncomfortable, just imagine living the nightmare of true domestic violence. In real life, too many women and youth are preyed upon with malice and no hope of rescue. It is always my goal to entertain, but my hope with this story goes beyond a fun read, and with that in mind, I listed some of the more useful resources for women in abusive relationship at the end of WHITE LIES. If it helps a reader help themselves, or someone else, then my discomfort is well worth it.
Picture
Who are the heroes in your book (no spoilers please)?
WHITE LIES has been the weirdest and most fun journey, the most realistic piece I’ve written (or encountered) for some time, because everyone, heroes, heroine, supporting players, villains,  has something greater than themselves driving them. There’s a streak of hero in the entire cast even though the actions they take appear otherwise. (Well, maybe except the dog. He’s a little too happy-go-lucky to be a hero.) Oh man, there’s SOOOOoo much more I’d like to say, but we’re too close to the spoiler limit already.

Will we be surprised by the outcome?
Oh yeah. All of us readers like to predict what’s coming, but where’s the real fun in knowing the end?  Any good author better be able to surprise in the end.

It’s encouraging to end every edit cycle of WHITE LIES smiling. (This close to publication, I’ve dealt with these people SO many times, they’d BETTER be entertaining!)

White Lies is an award finalist? That’s quite an honor.
Yes it is. Very exciting and humbling all at once and a huge help to me. Snaring Fourth in the Hook, Line, & Sinker! Contest, a nationwide competition juried by total strangers, was exactly the objective support this author needed.

What drives you to write and what preparations or quirks do you practice to inspire you or give you a comfortable writing environment?
Work environment, shmerk environment. I’ve written on the beach, at the kid’s orthodontist’s, bedside while attending dying parents, in the park, at home. Life goes on. If you’re serious about your craft, the work has to find a way to fit.

It’s imperative to maintain as a high a standard as possible; to create entertaining yet realistic characters, intelligent ones with multiple facets to their personalities, in feasible but unusual situations, with heart-wrenching stakes and courageous, smart, surprising solutions. For a reader to care about and possibly embrace the characters’ values, they have to respect and care about them.  The story must be human, funny, thought-provoking, and something to be unhesitatingly shared with someone who may never have seen the world through Faith’s lens. My goal is deliver all of that and more.

What’s the funniest or strangest thing that has happened to you as an author?
I took a Citizen’s Police Academy course and made the mistake of telling the instructor I was nervous about an exercise where we play “cop” to cops playing “citizens” during a traffic stop.  He gets an evil grin and goes off to confer with his buddies.

The night’s not going well for the “cops”. Our score’s zilch and we’re entertaining our hosts. My partner’s game to let me drive the patrol car and we’re soon in hot pursuit of certain felons who refuse to respond to our sirens or PA commands. They finally stop for our flashing blues, and after ignoring several more instructions, our “perp” reveals he’s “deaf”. The observing cops have a field day with this until I lift my hand and start finger spelling instructions. Smirk vanished, our perp can’t believe I can sign. I can (enough for this) and if he can’t, he’s faking being deaf and under arrest.

Unfortunately the cops nearby are too busy busting a gut laughing at him to help me haul him jail ...but we’ll get ‘em
next time, Danno.
(The full account of My Night At the Academy is here under Shorts.)

Where can we find your books and what’s next in the series?
Just as in real life, you may find  language that could be offensive to some readers.

The books are available worldwide in multiple formats and can be ordered through any major book retailer.
The easiest way to find them is to visit http://www.kdharpbooks.com, where you’ll find descriptions, samples, and
hyperlinks for purchase.

Also links to GoodReads, to K.D. Harp, Author on Facebook, to Amazon Author Central, an e-mail list, and basically more than my own dog wants to know about me.

I’m an equal opportunity character torturer, so it’s Adam’s turn to need Alexandra’s help again, if Brett lets him anywhere near her. Tentatively titled WILD BLUE (third in the series) is in its infancy and needs any prayer you can spare.  Since I’m already asking for favors, every author needs any good review they earn. This is an incredibly tough industry. If you enjoy a book, anyone’s book, try to send them props.

Thanks so much for sharing time with me.
May all your reads be great ones!

Why do you write Christian romance when you could rake in the dough
writing secular romances?

At the end of the day, and especially at the end of my life, when I stand before God, I want to hold my head high and know I’ve honored Him with my words and not brought shame to His name or my family. Sure, I’ve sinned plenty, just as we all have. That’s part of being human. But the way I see it? I’m leaving a solid legacy for my children in producing clean, uplifting and entertaining stories promoting the love, hope and grace to be found in a personal relationship with the Lord.

What are elements in your books that make them different from other
contemporary Christian romances?

I’ve found a niche that isn’t usually filled in my genre. Namely, my books have a bit of everything. I combine humor, drama, adventure and often a hint of mystery. If a line/scene can make me laugh out loud after I’ve read it over and over again, then I figure at least a few readers will hopefully find it amusing. Ditto the emotional scenes. I love witty banter between the hero and his heroine and employ it as often as possible, depending on their personalities. Especially in my Lewis Legacy Series books, each book can stand alone with a completely different storyline (although it’s certainly advantageous to have read its predecessors).

Purchase link for a specially priced boxed set with the first four books in the Lewis Legacy Series:

*The Lewis Legacy Series books are also available in print editions.

In addition to the Lewis Legacy Series, JoAnn Durgin is the author of an Amazon top-selling contemporary Christian romance, Catching Serenity. Her novellas include the Starlight Christmas Trilogy: Meet Me Under the Mistletoe, Starlight, Star Bright, and Sleigh Ride Together with You (November 2014). Another novella, Echoes of Edinburgh, releases in September 2014. A member of the American Christian Fiction Writers (national, Indiana and Kentucky chapters) as well as the Louisville Christian Writers. JoAnn lives with her family in southern Indiana.
Will you confess/share/confide the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
Once upon a time, a sheltered 23-year-old Indiana girl, fresh out of college, went on a date with a Roman man—as in a tall, dark and very handsome man in Rome, Italy. Okay, don’t groan, but he was also the entertainer in the hotel lounge. Even more surprising, my mother was with me and didn’t voice any objections! We tore around Rome one evening at 90 mph and then visited a nightclub with mirrored disco balls and black velvet paintings of dead American film icons. A certain line in the Diane Lane movie, Under the Tuscan Sun, always makes me laugh. Her character meets a gorgeous Roman man and when she asks his name, he says, “Marcello.” She laughs under her breath and says, “Of course, it is.” Give you one guess what my Roman date’s name was? Ah, Marcello. When in Rome…

If you were an animal, what would you like to be?
I absolutely love the gorgeous thoroughbreds raised on the horse farms in the beautiful rolling hills of Kentucky (I live in southern—stress that part—Indiana, not far from many of these farms). They are strong, fast, intelligent and spirited. My favorite is the rich, chestnut brown thoroughbred. As a matter of fact, my upcoming novella, Echoes of Edinburgh (releasing in late September, available for preorder now on Amazon), features a heroine raised on a horse farm. And I make sure she returns to Kentucky from Scotland at the end of the book. Purchase link: http://www.amazon.com/Echoes-Edinburgh-Passport-Romance-Durgin-ebook/dp/B00MRCCTVW

I understand you recently retired from your paralegal position to become a full-time writer. Congratulations! Can you tell us what prompted that decision?
Let me count the ways. Three major factors contributed to the decision. My predecessor at the law firm returned after four years, and that was the first clue it was time for me to make my departure. Honestly, I became increasingly dissatisfied with the work and longed to write as often as possible. Then a windfall of money unexpectedly dropped into our laps…enough to make me think seriously about quitting. Truly, it’s as if the Holy Spirit was nudging me and whispering, “How many more signs do I need to give you that it’s time to take the leap of faith?”

I should have a bumper sticker printed (if one doesn’t already exist) that reads, “I’d rather be writing.” By the end of this year, I’ll have published ten books in the span of four years since my debut novel, Awakening, released (six full-length novels and four novellas). As much as I was able to accomplish while working full-time, I hope to be much more productive with a full-time writing career. I’ve never had writer’s block, and I certainly pray the well doesn’t run dry now!

Can you tell us a little about your latest release, Moonbeams?
Sure thing! The easiest way is to share the “back cover” blurb with you. Here goes:

He represents nothing she ever wanted. And offers everything she needs. She’s everything he needs. And wants nothing from him. When their paths collide, can two people from different worlds dream of a future together?  Expect the unexpected.

Mitch Jacobsen’s younger sister, Amy Warnick, has tried to pair him off with her fellow TeamWork Missions volunteer, Cassie, for over a year. Why can’t Amy understand that the harder she pushes, the faster he’ll run? Dating a woman who lives 1,600 miles away—no matter how gorgeous and compassionate—isn’t on his radar.

Cassandra Thorenson wants nothing to do with a man who works with money and contributes to corporate greed. Dating a Wall Street broker—no matter how handsome and funny—is the last thing she needs.

Surely the Almighty must have a better plan.

When these two meet during a TeamWork mini-reunion in Houston over Valentine’s Day weekend, Mitch and Cassie discover they have a lot more in common than they’d ever imagined. Their plan to resist one another quickly derails and then an unexpected event sends them all reeling. Let the sparks and the tempers fly!

Name your all-time favorite fictional hero/male character.
Hands down, Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Atticus is a sigh-worthy hero in every sense of the word. I’m sure my love of Atticus also promoted my adoration of the actor Gregory Peck, who portrayed Atticus in the film version. A widower, Atticus patterned moral strength and deep integrity to his two children, Jem and Scout. As opposed to some of the rough and tough modern day heroes, Atticus was a gentleman who wore three-piece suits, preferred to walk instead of drive, used his mind instead of his fists, and loved to read books, especially with his
children. In his kids, Atticus fostered a sense of empathy, tolerance, respect and fair-mindedness.

WELCOME
TOMMIE LYN
Author of

HIGH ON A MOUNTAIN

Many writers say they started writing stories when they were children. Is that true of you?
No. While I wrote essays, speeches and the like when I was high school and college, I didn’t try to write fiction. However, from the time I was very young I told myself stories. And when I wasn’t telling myself stories, I was reading incessantly.

When did you start writing fiction?
I tried to write a story when I was in my 20s. The result was pathetic. I tried again when I was in my 30s. Same outcome. And I decided fiction writing required an inborn talent that I didn’t have. So I gave up.

          Until...

In the late 1990s, a friend told me his Scottish ancestor had been transported to the colonies and sold as a slave to a plantation near Savannah, Georgia. My response was: What?  No! That can’t be! While there were  indentured servants, there were never any white slaves.

But his story piqued my interest, and I delved into Scottish history from that era. And I found that my friend had told the truth. What I learned about the experience of the Scottish people built a fire in my heart, and I wanted people to know at least a little of what happened. Since many folks won’t read a dry history text but will read entertaining fiction, I thought the historical record should be fictionalized to make it more appealing. And, too, I wanted it to be accurate. There are tons of books on the market with bare-chested kilt-clad men on the covers, stories which bear no resemblance to the real Scottish life I’d learned about.

Since I knew I couldn’t write fiction (I’d tried and failed several times, remember?), I tried to get others to write the story, but no one would. Finally, a history professor told me, “If you want it written, write it.”

         But…but…I can’t write fiction.

I took a deep breath, flexed my fingers and started typing. And that beginning was truly pitiful. But my husband has often said that anyone can learn to do anything, and he pointed out one weekend that
our local junior college had an offering for beginning writers. He said I ought to sign up for the online class.

So I did. And found out, joy, joy, that he was right. You can learn to do just about anything. Including writing.

My experience in learning to write taught me that being a good writer does not require an inborn talent. What it does require is: 1 – a burning passion for telling a story; 2 – the willingness to study the craft of writing; 3 – a working knowledge of the English language, i.e., spelling, punctuation, grammar; and 4 – the perseverance to work at making your story the best it can be.

So, in the spring of 2006, the six years or so of research I’d done about Scottish history began to make its way onto the page, revealed in the life of a character who is now almost as real to me as any flesh
and blood person I know….Ailean MacLachlainn.

Ailean’s story is titled HIGH ON A MOUNTAIN and you can try it out for FREE.

But you know what? His story didn’t stop there, because I couldn’t quit writing. Two books followed the first, DEEP IN THE VALLEY and ACROSS THE WIDE RIVER. I’m currently beginning the fourth book in the  MacLachlainn saga, ON THE RED CLAY HILLS.

Picture
Do you only write historical fiction?
Although the historicals are dearest to my heart, the stories that pour from my fingers like water when I start typing are  suspense/thrillers/supernatural stories. Weird, huh?

Can you tell us of something funny that’s happened to you as an author?
My author photo has the obligatory writerly pose of “hand under chin.” When a writer friend and I sold our books at local book signings and festivals, we displayed laminated posters of our book covers, etc., and I put a small copy of my author photo on my side of the table. Which was undoubtedly seen by a number of people. As I later found out.

I’m a person who doesn’t like to appear in public unless I look fairly presentable…hair combed, clothes neat and clean…you get the idea. One day, though, due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to make a bank deposit, and I didn’t have time to do any grooming. I just barreled into the bank with my hair disheveled, in my house-cleaning clothes, and the teller, who I’d never met, gave me a sharp look. She stuck her hand under her chin, smiled at me and said, “You’re that author, aren’t you?”

Isn’t that the way it always goes? The one time you leave the house looking like a total wreck, you’re going to be recognized.

Picture
How many books have you published?

Eleven novels: three historicals and eight suspense/thriller/supernaturals. I’ve also published one short story and an anthology of flash fiction. My Amazon author page lists them here:
http://www.amazon.com/Tommie-yn/e/B002KGXLWG/ref=ntt_athr_dp_pel_pop_1

And the Books page on my website lists them, too:

WELCOME
GEORGE H. MCVEY,

AUTHOR
OF THE
REDEMPTION TALES

SERIES

A gun toting pastor?  Sounds like an intriguing  combination in the Redemption Tales series.
Actually to call Nathan Ryder a gun toting pastor is a bit of an understatement. Most preachers in the west during the 1800’s carried guns and as a matter of fact there’s an old hymn titled “The Circuit Riding Preacher” that makes mention of it. The song was made famous by Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.  The difference is that Nathan gains a reputation as a gunslinger which was unusual. The idea actually came from some stories my Granny used to tell me. She had a great grandfather that had been both a circuit rider and a sheriff. I wondered how that would work if you were both a good gun and a preacher - which is where the idea of the Redemption Tales came from.

Is any of your real life reflected in your Redemption Series of books?
To be honest there is a small amount of my real life in all my books. Don’t get me wrong I’ve never outdrawn or outshot an outlaw. However I’m a fairly good shot and can ride a horse. The struggles internally that Nathan goes through as a pastor are very much some of the same struggles I’ve had to deal with. But for the most part Nathan is a complete fabrication.
Picture
Thanks for spending some time with us, before we go tell us where we can buy your books?

The links show to your left on screen.

I hear you and Redeeming Grace are up for a couple of awards?
Yes that’s true. I’m nominated for the Indie Romance Convention’s - Author of the Year. Redeeming Grace is nominated for Best Western Romance of 2014. Although I don’t consider myself a Romance Writer nor do I consider The Redemption Tales series as romance novels, there is  romance in them. But then again there are more gunfights, fist fights and deaths than there is romance. However since the nominations come from fans who went out of their way to nominate me, I won’t struggle against the honor too much. But I do want to say don’t pick up those books and think you’re getting a typical romance book because you aren’t. The awards will be given out in September and I’m holding my breath in anticipation and feel honored to have been nominated, regardless of the outcome.

How did you get started as a writer?
I started writing after I was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis. It compromised my immune system and limited my social interactions. I discovered the internet and realized one way to continue the message of Christ was to write. I wrote Prayer Walking For Spiritual Breakthrough. God opened my mind and I became a writer.

How did you start writing Westerns?
I have to blame my Dad for that - if you don’t like my Westerns it’s all his fault. Saturdays were western day and my Dad would make us watch old western movies and TV shows all day long. I grew up on everything from Gunsmoke, to Gene Autry. So when I decided to write a novel it only seemed right to embrace my past and write a western. Thanks Dad!

Picture
Do you have any rituals or special requirements that inspire you to write?
I do have a few. I must have a full glass of Pepsi at all times and Smarties. The Smarties have to be unwrapped and put in a bowl so that I can grab them by the handful. I also have a music playlist. For my non-fiction it’s praise and worship, for the westerns I alternate of old cowboy songs and bluegrass instrumental. For the adventure and political thriller it’s movie sound tracks and folk music that echoes adventure.

What kind of fictional hero would you choose to be?
I’d choose to be the Lone Ranger or a U.S. Marshal in the Old West taking on outlaws with my guns, fists, quick mind and wit. I love their bravery and honor.

Are you planning to write any other books in different genres?
Actually I already have a serial novel on Amazon called Rise of the Champion which is an urban  fantasy that I started shortly after I wrote Redeeming Reputation. I’m also working on several other novels in different genres - a Young Adult action/adventure novel, a Political Thriller and I of course have some non-fiction books out as well. I love the westerns and actually have two more western series I plan to write as well as a three more Redemption Tales. I try to keep an open mind as well and if God gives me a story to tell then I will write it no matter what genre it is.

Oh and I would be remiss if I didn’t invite your readers to join the Christian Indie Authors and Readers Facebook group where they can meet and interact with some great authors and readers

Welcome to
Lisa Grace, Author of
The Angel Series
and
How Real Science Proves

the Bible

1) Hi Lisa, I'm sure everyone wants to know—your favorite type of dolphins: deep water or coastal?
Coastal, hands down. My daughter and I, she's ten, have just gotten into paddle boarding and try to get as close as we can. We live right on a canal on the Gulf Coast of Florida, and I'm a nut for wildlife.

2) What sets you apart from all the other coffee swilling authors out there and more importantly, do any of your books include coffee drinkers?
Dunkin' Donuts is my favorite  commercial brand. Arabica beans if I can't get organic small farm Costa Rican ones. I have this fascination with Costa Rica ever since I saw those islands from the plane view in Jurassic Park. Luckily, my
history mystery romance novel True Treasure, about a naval officer who is falsely accused of being a pirate, is set there.
3) So are you a Christian writer? And rumor has it the first thing you grabbed after being born, was a pencil.
Well,  yes, I am, and that's true, it's a rumor. I'm sure now a days I would have reached for a smart phone and started typing out my own baby alphabet, after I drooled on it for a while first. Yes, I'm a Christian writer and to prove it, I wrote this fun little book, How Real Science Proves The Bible. I get really sick of "theories" which just means "Hey, other scientists, I have an idea I can't prove!"  I call them quicksand theories. It's only $3.49 as an ebook, and contains years of my research.  http://www.amazon.com/Real-Science-Proves-Bible-Grace-ebook/dp/B00LYP81CE/

4)  What about this movie deal you have for a hymn writing parrot, how's that going?
Actually, it's my angel series that's been optioned for a major movie. You can get the first book free here:  http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0052AI5W8 or from any major ebook retailer.
But  does it have a parrot in it? No, but it does have an opossum in the second book,  Angel in the Storm,
maybe that's what your thinking of. I had a pet opossum for 4 years. He was a great pet.

5)  I've heard you live right next to the Twilight Zone. Have you ever had a snake dropped on your head or a gator swimming in your pool?
No, but a snake did fall on my sister-in-law's head from the door overhang when she opened her front door, and she had a gator that would skinny dip in her pool. I think she lives closer to the twilight zone than I do. Of course, no one has it as wild and crazy as Cam does in my YA series FEUDAL LAND. It's about her life during the end times as everything falls apart here, in America. I release a new section every two weeks and they're for sale for 99 cents each on Amazon.
6) So any special quirks you have while writing?
I like to watch Life Below Zero free on Hulu while I write. All that snow is the perfect background noise. I can pay attention or not, and I just can't believe people enjoy, and thrive living that way. Visiting Sue at Kavik River Camp is
now on my bucket list.

Welcome
Samantha Fury,

Author of
Street Justice Series

Who is your favorite character in the Street Justice Series
It would have to be Angelo Morganson. He's a hardcore undercover cop, that finds himself falling for the pretty redhead Charlie Anderson. He really loves being single, but also enjoys having someone around that cares for him. He's a tough guy, his step brother Joe, is a great help, and though they don't see eye to eye on everything they both are learning to depend on each other when the times get rough.

What is your favorite book so far
This is really a tough call. I have four books out, and it would be a tie between Book one where we first meet Charlie and Angel, and book one of the California Trilogy, Maid for Martin. They both have great male Mc's and it's so easy to fall in love with both men, Martin Taylor and Angelo Morganson.

How many books do you plan on having in the Street Justice Series
I really hope to have ten. It could go higher if the fans and the stories keep coming. I know not everyone enjoys a series, but its so much fun to have the time to delve into each character in depth. I also like to have a few new characters now and then that just appear in one book.

Where did the idea for the Street Justice Series come from?
This idea came from a dream, it's where a lot of my novels come from. I believe that God shares a scene from a book with me, and then he allows me to work out the rest of the story within a few months. Now and then I'll dream a whole story but that doesn't happen a lot.

What genre does your Series fall under?
Christian, Mystery/detective, with some romance. I like to call it Life Fiction, because there is so many things in my novels that deals with every day life problems. It's a bit of Women's Fiction, Mystery, Romance, Suspense, all wrapped up into one series.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

It took me about fifteen days to get down the first 50 thousand words, after that I'd say it took me about another two months to finish the first draft.  Then came the hard part the editing and trying to keep one eye on the laptop and one eye on my two babies. I always share Jack & Maxx when I can.

What other works would compare to your story?
I've been told by some readers that my Series is like Law and Order with kissing, though I must say there are no court rooms scenes, at least not yet. I've had a car chase, a plane crash, drug dealers, and a  kidnapping. There are a lot
of real life issues, from abortion, to attempted murder, from dealing with dating to living with a non-christian, and in the next few books the saga continues. We see what it's like to live on the streets, we learn about forgiveness, and patience, to name a few.  My characters have many issues, to deal with. I try to lead by example, I like having situations that show Christians in bad circumstances, but in the end I always try to show a way of escape.

Who or What inspired you to write this Series?

God first because he keeps giving me more dreams and more story lines. Second, I would have to say, the people in the Series inspired me. I just couldn't delve into everything I needed too for one novel, so I thought why not make it a Series.  It's a good way to look into the lives of everyone that live and work around Charlie and Angel, my two main
characters.  I hope to have at least ten books in this series, and after that who knows, maybe more.

Do you tend to base your characters on real people or are they totally from your imagination?
My characters may have a trait here or there from someone I admire, but I try to not copy them; they are as original as I can get them.

What was the most interesting research you had to do for any of your books?
I learned how to make wine, from start to finish.  I did a lot of research on the railroad, and found it all fascinating.  I actually called The Cactus Hotel in Texas and got minute details about its history.  Writing can be a great learning experience.

What would you like your readers to take away from your stories?
I hope they learn that no matter what life throws at us, that we can handle it.When we get in dark and depressing situations, God may have placed us there for a reason. We are to stay the course and follow the path that he leads us on. It’s not always easy but with his help we can make it and help others along the way.
